Is it a good, bad, or neither sign if the Program Director assigned to your still-pending proposal changes from someone on the directorate whose research area is not really related to yours, to someone whose research area IS related to yours??
Dunno. If doesn't sound like a bad thing. If I were to venture a guess, it sounds like the PO in the area closely related to yours is considering picking up the award. Considering. And it's a wild, unsubstantiated guess on my part.
I heard from a big birdie that when a proposal gets passed on to another director, it gets sent there because it has the highest chance of funding. It's a good sign! jc
I am incredibly lucky to have been hired by a department who wants to let me do my 'unfocused' science. They especially like that I don't do any one thing in particular. BONUS! We'll see how it all turns out over the next 5-7 years.
